Route 15 -Rental Trucks

Truck rental companies need to better educate drivers on roadway compliance. Most people who rent a large truck have very little experience, focusing more on the road missing the warning signs. 

Route 15 has bridges as low as 10.5 feet and lanes are only 36'' verse 48" on major highways.

Route 15 - 18 Wheelers

The height of an 18-wheeler is 13.5 feet. Route 15 has bridges that have a clearance of 10.5 feet. Once the driver becomes aware he must stop and the traffic can be backed upped for miles. Prohibited Vehicles – Left Lane

Common practice and most law on United States highways is that the left lane is reserved for passing and faster moving traffic, and that traffic using the left lane must yield to traffic wishing to overtake.  

Entitled Drivers – Cause Accidents

Ranked #4 for the cause of accidents. Cutting other drivers off. These are all examples of reckless & entitled driving and each can cause a very serious accident. If you see anyone driving like this around you, back off and give them space. There is nothing you are going to do that is going to make the driver more safely.

Route 15 – Trailers

Route 15 South of i-91 prohibits trailers, there are over 60 posted signs yet drivers have disregard of the law and driver safety.

by Connecticut law to improve your visibility to 

other drivers in rainy or snowy conditions. ... 

The driving resource DMV.org says headlights 

should be used in sleet, fog, or when smoke from 

wildfires is reducing visibility.
